GrrreenDog Daycare isn’t old-school “drop off and exhaust them” daycare. We’re dedicated to being your dog’s teacher, not a hall monitor — think kindergarten, not babysitting.
Call it Daycare 2.0: an advanced, enrichment-based approach some say is like a Montessori school for dogs. Your dog gets smaller groups, one-on-one attention, and no chaotic free-for-alls — a typical day might include Zoomie Hour, our Paw-casso Art Studio, or a Sniffari Adventure. Not just exercise — a brain workout too.
Open Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM. Membership and space are limited, and a Temperament Assessment is required before enrolling.
Your dog will never be forced beyond their tolerance — not during grooming, brushing, combing, bathing, noise exposure, or nail and ear care. Individualized attention is a priority: your dog will be in loving hands, not sitting in a cage waiting for attention.
We use the highest quality products available — hypo-allergenic, botanical-based, and cruelty-free — because what’s safe for your dog should also be safe for the planet.

Our pricing reflects the value and quality of our services, designed to provide premium care: personalized support, superior skin products, and a calm environment.
Our grooming prices are determined by three factors: your dog’s breed, the condition of their coat, and their temperament during the groom or bath. Because of that, we’re not able to quote an exact price without seeing your dog first — give us a call and we’ll gladly walk you through it.
Our Daycare pricing is a reflection of the smaller classes, and the use of green, non-toxic toys and cleaning supplies.

No — GrrreenDog is an open-play daycare, built around movement and guided interaction with our teachers, packmates, and enrichment activities throughout the day. And yes, nap time too.
We limit daycare to small and medium dogs, preferably under 45 lbs, to keep the group safe and manageable.
Puppies need their core vaccines — canine distemper, adenovirus (hepatitis), parvovirus, and rabies, often given together as DHPP or DAPP — and adult dogs need to be up to date on the same. Bordetella also needs to stay current for as long as your dog is enrolled.
Many daycares are large, fast-paced, with stress-burdened dogs in a loud, chaotic environment — the ratio can be as high as one person to 25 dogs. Stress in dogs can show up as aggression and other behavioral problems. Is your dog engaged? Learning? At GrrreenDog, your dog isn’t left to fend for themselves in a chaotic playgroup, or sitting by the door waiting for you all day. Our classes are limited to 10 dogs with one teacher, so your dog gets personal attention throughout the day — engaged, not just watched.
Dogs and puppies spend a lot of time licking their paws, which means anything on the floor or in their coat can end up ingested. There’s growing research linking chemicals to cancer, skin allergies, and digestive issues in dogs — and it’s becoming more common than it used to be. Why expose your best friend to toxic chemicals when it isn’t necessary? We research everything your dog might come into contact with here, from our cleaning solutions to the toys they play with, to make sure it’s all safe.

Dogs are remarkably tuned in to us — if you’re feeling anxious about leaving them, they’ll likely feel it too. It’s one of the most common reasons for first-day jitters, and it’s completely normal. This is actually a big part of why we do a Temperament Assessment before your dog starts: it lets us get to know your dog without you in the room, see how they settle once you’re not there to read your emotions, and build a plan around what actually helps them feel safe. Most dogs relax once the goodbye is over and realize they’re in good hands.
We’ll give you a full report on their time with us, including any changes we notice in their behavior or their body.
We’re an enrichment-based, curated program — not a drop-in center. Your dog joins a consistent play group, gets intentional play built around their personality, and follows a balanced day.
We don’t offer drop-in daycare. Our groups become your dog’s pack, and they get to know their packmates — that consistency is part of what makes the environment feel safe. Bringing in a new dog takes time and patience for everyone to adjust, so spots are reserved for a set number of days each week rather than drop-in visits. It’s better for your dog, and for the pack.
Our Temperament Assessment isn’t a pass/fail test — it’s an evaluation to determine if our daycare is a good fit for your dog. We start by learning about your dog’s age, breed, training history, confinement and rest preferences, and exercise needs. Then, because we don’t want the process itself to be stressful, we begin with slow, individual interactions with each dog who’ll be in their class, before bringing them together as a group. Throughout, we’re watching for:
Sometimes we’ll adjust the class activities to help a new packmate settle in. Other times, we may find that our daycare, no matter how small the class is, isn’t the best fit for your dog right now — and we’ll always tell you honestly if that’s the case. No dog is ever a “failure” here; some dogs simply find the social side of daycare overwhelming. And sometimes, if your pup gets some additional training before entering daycare, their energy might end up being the perfect fit down the line.
We allow a 10-minute leeway after daycare closes at 4:30 PM; after that, a fee of $10 applies per 15-minute interval. Since we don’t cage dogs, we’re limited on space and staff, so on-time pickups keep things running smoothly for the whole group.
No — administering medications, extra feeding times, and “good manners” training are all included in daycare tuition at no additional charge.

Stress in dogs can show up as fear, digestive upset, aggression, and other behavioral problems — for your dog, and for the person handling them. Many grooming shops are large, fast-paced, and packed with stress-burdened dogs in a loud environment. Would you want to visit that same place every few weeks? At GrrreenDog, your dog isn’t sitting in a cage for hours waiting for attention — they come in for their bath or groom, then go straight home when it’s done.
The products we choose help keep your dog healthier by not adding extra chemicals to what they’re already exposed to. Dogs are bombarded with toxins on a regular basis — lawn fertilizers, snow-melting chemicals, detergents, carpet cleaners, and more — all of which take a toll on your dog’s immune system. At GrrreenDog, we research every product we use to make sure it’s the safest available, from the shampoo and hair gel to the detergent we use on our towels.
We’ll remove any fleas or ticks we find during the bathing process, and call you right away — that gives you time to treat your home’s bedding, car, and living areas before your dog comes back. If the infestation is heavy and active, we’ll apply a special herbal shampoo to treat it — there’s an additional charge for that, since it takes extra time and product. Either way, your dog won’t go home with pests from a visit to us.
We ask that all dogs be up to date on their core vaccines — canine distemper, adenovirus (hepatitis), parvovirus, and rabies — plus Bordetella, before their appointment.
Hot spots — known to veterinarians as pyotraumatic dermatitis — are surface skin infections that happen when normal skin bacteria overgrow and overwhelm your dog’s natural resistance. You’ll usually see a red, hairless, circular patch that may be swollen or draining, and it’s often intensely itchy — enough that a dog will scratch, lick, or bite at it to the point of self-injury. Left untreated, hot spots can spread.
At GrrreenDog, we offer spa techniques that support healing in the skin and hair follicles of affected areas, including mud baths, specific minerals, oligo-elements, and pH-balanced shampoos — many customers have seen real improvement using them. That said, if a hot spot looks like it’s beyond what we can safely address, we’ll always recommend seeing your veterinarian right away. We’ll let you know immediately if we notice or suspect one forming, and we’re always happy to talk through any concerns.
It takes time for us to build a relationship with you and your dog. Many dogs feel some nervousness at first — remember, the salon is full of new smells and sounds from their perspective, and they can also sense your emotions (even mixed ones) when you arrive. In our experience, once you leave, your dog bonds with us and settles in. That said, no groom is worth pushing a dog past their limit — if your pup is too frightened, we’ll call you and figure out the best plan together.
Sometimes your dog needs to be groomed shorter than you’d hoped — usually because of matting close to the skin, difficulty tolerating the brushing needed to remove it, or a skin condition we find once they’re bathed. When brushing is too painful or stressful, clipping the fur is the kindest option. The good news: it grows back.

At GrrreenDog, our groomers and bathers work by appointment only — it’s easier and safer for us to plan who’s in the salon and when. Just like humans, dogs have best friends, and some dogs don’t play well with others, so we take that into account when scheduling. We’re intentional about scheduling the right dogs at the best time, based on their own personalities. Please call ahead to book.
We allow a 30-minute leeway after a groom or bath; after that, a late fee applies. We prefer that you pick up your dog as soon as they’re ready — try to schedule your appointment for a time when you can drop off and pick up right after. Since we don’t cage dogs, we’re limited on space and staff, so on-time pickups keep the schedule moving for the next dog’s appointment.
